About the Role
We are seeking a General Labor, Packing team member to join our Alsip, IL bakery. As a General Labor, Packing, you will be accountable for packing baked products according to case counts and quality specifications while maintaining food‑safety standards, supporting line flow, and contributing to a clean, safe, and collaborative production environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 3rd
- Hours: 9:45PM – 6:15AM
- Weekend availability: Required
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $18.00–$19.00
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Pack products consistently according to quality, case count, and customer specifications
- Monitor and communicate product quality issues to leads and operators
- Support production flow by placing filled containers on the conveyor or into cases for further processing
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food‑safe work area in compliance with GMPs
- Follow production instructions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and food safety
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production goals
- Contribute to a safe environment by reporting potential contamination or hazards
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions
- Ability to lift 20–30 lbs. as needed
- One year of related experience or training (preferred but not required)
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in food manufacturing or packing environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team
