About the Role

We are seeking an FSQA Coordinator – Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As an FSQA Coordinator - EMP, you will be accountable for ensuring compliance with the facility Environmental Monitoring Program through microbial testing and trending. This role is also responsible for the facility Allergen Management program.

 

 

Shift & Schedule 

  • Weekdays – 8 hour days

 

 

Core Accountabilities

  • Maintain facility Environmental Monitoring program, which includes ATP, APC, and pathogen swab schedules, water, air, and other site testing schedules.
  • Schedule and maintain facility allergen testing program.
  • Train relevant staff on all swabbing techniques related to environmental and allergen management program.
  • Maintain finished food testing schedule.
  • Trending, evaluation, and summary of environmental, sanitation, and pest control data as required to support bakery teams and customers. Perform non-conformance investigations for out of specification results.
  • Provide any purchase orders and process any required orders as needed for the QA department.
  • Assist in maintaining the external calibration schedule for all QA/Process monitoring equipment.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Bachelor of Science degree, relevant post-secondary science-related courses or sufficient related experience in the food industry.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience in food industry, manufacturing or quality experience.
  • Significant experience and knowledge of environmental monitoring, microbiology, and allergen management programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers.
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Detailed oriented, strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success) 

  • Preference will be given to candidates who hold a Certificate in Environmental Monitoring techniques or Allergen Management.
  • A background in bakery and frozen food manufacturing would be an advantage.
