About the Role
We are seeking an FSQA Coordinator (Contract) to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As an FSQA Coordinator, you will be accountable for maintaining the facility’s food‑safety management systems, ensuring compliance with HACCP, FSMA, CFIA/PCP, BRC, and customer requirements. This role is critical in upholding regulatory standards, supporting audits, and driving sustainable corrective and preventive actions across the plant.

- Shift: Rotating Continental
- Assignment Duration: 8 months (1.5‑year contract)
- Weekend availability: Required
Compensation
- Salary Range: $60,000–$68,000
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Audit and assess current programs against CFIA/FDA, BRC, and customer standards to ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee, maintain, and verify HACCP/Food Safety Plans, including prerequisite programs and FSMA/PCP requirements
- Monitor, verify, and drive corrective actions to uphold the integrity of HACCP, AIMS, and broader food‑safety systems
- Deliver food‑safety training and orientation for new and existing employees
- Lead internal audits, mock recalls, reassessments, and support third‑party audits
- Communicate food‑safety program requirements across departments and support cross‑functional teams during audits
- Maintain deviation and corrective‑action trackers to ensure timely closure and long‑term sustainability
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Post‑secondary education in Food Science or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or manufacturing operations
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
- Knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, PCP/CFIA, BRC, and food‑safety program requirements
- Ability to analyze data, document findings, and drive corrective and preventive actions
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Experience supporting or leading third‑party and regulatory audits
- Familiarity with FSSC 22000 or similar GFSI schemes
- Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and influence without authority
- Experience reducing losses due to process variation or procedural gaps
- Strong judgment and ability to build credibility with operations stakeholders
