About the Role
We are seeking an Engineering Co-op Student to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As an Engineering Co-op Student, you will be accountable for assisting the Project Engineer with projects within the facility related to product development, engineering, and manufacturing processes. This also includes all building upgrades and equipment improvements.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: Day shift
- Hours: 8am – 4pm
- Weekend availability: Not required
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $27
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing)
- Work on drawings including the updating of existing plant layouts, as well as technical drawings related to specific projects and equipment
- Assist the project engineer in the engineering and process projects specifically related to the improvement of the manufacturing area
- Assist in the updating/accuracy of line layouts and line improvements. This includes field measurements and verifications
- Support in the installation of equipment related to new product start-up
- Assist with line efficiency/improvement projects
- Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in the SOP manual
- Adhere to GMPs and Health and safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table) (Required to be considered)
- Enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Understanding of processes related to manufacturing
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project skills required
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success) (Nice-to-haves that could set candidates apart)
- Experience in manufacturing
- Understanding of food manufacturing
