The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our facility's Quality Assurance program, maintaining specification programs, performing sensory exercises and overseeing program updates and sampling programs to support new product development. This role requires strong analytical skills for data trending and evaluation, as well as the ability to train staff on testing and sensory techniques. The FSQA Coordinator will play a crucial role in upholding our high standards of food safety and quality, collaborating across departments to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in our processes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain facility Quality Assurance program, which includes quality assurance plans, quality flow diagrams, quality and key quality control points, manufacturing process specifications, & visual aid guides.
  • Lead the sensory program which includes sample collection for routine customer testing and internal sensory evaluation.
  • Train on all quality assessments and evlauations of products.
  • QA record compliance audits, review and follow up.
  • Maintain internal food and raw material specifications.
  • Trending, evaluation and summary of QA and QC data as required to support bakery teams and customers (e.g. Excel, Minitab).
  • Assist in new food development process, as required.
  • Liase with regulatory in the creation and approval of new case labels, support bakery teams with label implementation.
  • Lead product sampling, specification updates and visual aid guide development.
  • Update bakery QA programs to reflect changes arising from new products.
  • Document shelf life evaluations for existing foods, and investigate shelf life extensions.
  • Upkeep of customer database systems including customer portals.
  • Liase with other departments as required
  • Maintain and model the required hygiene, safety and quality standards on the production floor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant post-secondary science-related courses
  • Effective work ethic and excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and multitask to meet internal and external deadlines
  • Good writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with internal and external customers
  • Detail oriented, organized and possess strong computer skills

 

This is a 6-month contract
