About the Role

We are seeking an FSQA Summer contractor to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. The FSQA Summer contractor is a hands-on technical role, responsible for supporting the FSQA technician team on various tasks as required by the team.

 

 

Shift & Schedule

 

  • Weekdays – 8 hour days 

 

Core Accountabilities

  •        Primarily assisting with sampling and product preparation for sensory analysis and product analytical measurements.
  •        Other duties may include data entry, document reviews, and filing of document paperwork.
  •        Ad hoc assistance for bakery projects, customer complaint investigations, non-conforming products and FSQA production tasks as required.
  •        Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in SOP manual

o   Keep work area clean and clear of hazards

o   Report any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to supervisor immediately

o   Use all prescribed personal protective equipment

o Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed

o   Follow all GMPs including maintaining personal hygiene, hand washing and sanitizing, clean up spills

o   Report any foreign material findings.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Post-Secondary Education in Food Science or related field.
  • Knowledgeable in Food Safety programs.
  • Training or experience with product sampling
  • Enthusiastic and capable of working in a fast-paced changing environment
  • Must be a good team member capable of working within a highly effective team: responsible, supportive and reliable. Maintain a professional attitude and treat all employees with respect
  • Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Detailed oriented, strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success) 

  • A background in bakery and frozen food manufacturing would be an advantage.
