About the Role

We are seeking a General labour, Bakery to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As a General Labour, you will be accountable for supporting essential production tasks across the bakery by performing a rtange of tasks such as packaging, sanitation,housekeeping and quality checks while rotating between roles. Your work ensures efficient workflow, safe operations, and consistent food‑quality standards throughout the bakery.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Rotating Continental
  • Weekend availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $22.64

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Perform general labour tasks to ensure workflow efficiency and cleanliness throughout the bakery
  • Foster a workplace culture where every employee understands and embraces their role in upholding food safety and quality standards as part of our shared commitment to excellence and community wellbeing. 
  • Assist with basic manual tasks, including moving materials, lifting, stacking, and organizing production areas
  • Learn and rotate through multiple general labour positions along the production line, adapting to operational needs
  • Conduct visual product inspections to ensure quality compliance
  • Work with team members to ensure continuous workflow and adherence to production standards
  • Basic line cleaning and sanitation, ensuring workspaces remain safe and hygienic
  • Manual lifting as required
    • Maintain food quality throughout the shift through constant monitoring.
    • Report all incidents.
    • Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in the SOP manual.
    • Follow GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook:
    • Keep the work area clean and clear of hazards.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries to the supervisor immediately

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Good oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts and overtime as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Dependable, punctual, and adaptable in fast‑paced environments
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Ability to pass a clear criminal background check (or has received a pardon)

  • Previous experience in a food‑manufacturing production environment
