Provide hands on support to the Human Resources function by contributing to the further development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, practices and programs and enhancing the employee experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR support and advice to management and employees to ensure the fair and equitable application of Human Resources policies and procedures, assist with general inquiries
  • Foster positive employee relations and effectively manage employee relations, coach and counsel both management and employees on conflict resolution, disciplinary action and other employee relations issues.
  • Participate in various Human Resources initiatives and projects in support of Company goals
  • Provide administrative support to the Central Service group and other Canadian Bakeries as needed.
  • Provide local support to US Payroll department as necessary
  • Support Talent Acquisition in local recruitment and selection process (posting jobs internally, coordinating job fairs, schedule interviews, prepare and present job offers)
  • Host new hire employee orientations as required, and ensure all online onboarding, paperwork and training is completed.  Ensure applicable excel files are updated as necessary
  • Assist and/or lead Onbaording Program, preparing monthly onboarding metrics,  responsible for new hire check in/stay interviews. Providing feedback summaries to HR/Hiring Manager
  • Act as liaison with temporary agency for managing temp to perm candidates and the hiring process
  • Prepare weekly reports, such as HR metrics and staffing reports
  • Participate in weekly staffing meetings with managers to understand hiring needs in bakery
  • Complete exit interviews and provides feedback to HR Manager
  • Assist in the implementation and communication/training of all HR policies and procedures
  • Enter and maintain data in HRIS; including all transfers, terminations and other data entry to ensure accurate and complete information and reporting is available
  • Manage the probationary review process, working with Supervisors/Managers to ensure completion.
  • Lead the social committee and manage the organization of company social events
  • Manage Bakery job description administration, updates and upload to internal system (ETQ)
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned, such as employment letters, payroll reimbursements, bereavement baskets,  etc
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality and quality
  • Perform all other duties assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Human Resources and working towards a CHRP designation is reqruied
  • Knowledge of  ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA , WSIB Regulations and other related legislation pertaining to workplace Human Resources is required
  • 1-3 years experience in a Human Resources role, specifically manufacturing environment preferred     
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Self starter with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good organization and follow-up skills
  • Strong computer knowledge, including prior working knowledge with a HRIS
