Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and notifications and work with planner to meet timelines.
  • Create and print SAP work orders and PO requests.
  • Organize and execute PM priorities on a daily basis.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in a manner that complies with Government regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide troubleshooting and support for unscheduled line shutdowns.
  • Manage and direct the work of on-site contractors when necessary.
  • Maintain an open line of interdepartmental communication
  • Attend morning production meetings and all other appropriate meetings.
  • Liaison with QA over quality issues to ensure food safety.
  • Maintain employee safety while ensuring Aspire Bakeries plant safety policies and practices are adhered to.
  • Initiates plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
  • Ensure all reliable weekly startup of all production areas.
  • Estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
  • Member of Food Safety Committee- Ensure that compliance to the policies and procedures of the facility, regulatory and customer requirements are being met.
  • Responsible for tracking and predicting equipment failures and implementing improvement strategies based on data before equipment failure occurs.
  • Lead the team through the process of troubleshooting breakdowns, downtime reports, and root cause fault analysis.
  • Maintain and provide training records.
  • Create a positive work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • A Millwright or Electrician licensed to practice in Ontario or have an Engineering degree/diploma is required
  • 5-7 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Certification as a class B refrigeration operator would be an asset is required.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is an asset required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to lead others.
  • Proven trades experience in technical problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Must be willing to pursue additional certification/licenses.
  • The willingness to adapt to a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of Government regulations as they apply to OHSA.
  • Knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP.
