About the Role

We are seeking a Processing Operator to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As a Processing Operator, you will be accountable for overseeing ingredient scaling, batching, and processing equipment to ensure product consistency, efficiency, and compliance with PPS specifications. This role is critical for maintaining batch accuracy, food‑safety standards, and smooth operations across multiple processing areas.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Rotating Continental
  • Weekend availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $27.59

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Operate and oversee scaling, batching, and processing equipment to ensure accurate and consistent batches
  • Maintain product quality by adhering to mixing standards, PPS specifications, and process controls
  • Document production data accurately in MII, SAP, and PCE systems to support traceability and compliance
  • Monitor ingredients, equipment performance, and process conditions, escalating abnormalities when needed
  • Foster a food‑safety and quality‑driven culture through consistent communication and adherence to GMPs
  • Support multiple processing areas by adapting to changing production needs and assisting where required
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe, compliant work environment

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently in fast‑paced environments
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and comfort working 12‑hour shifts and overtime as required
  • Ability to pass a clear criminal background check (or has received a pardon)

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or ingredient processing
  • Basic computer skills and comfort with digital systems (MII, SAP, PCE)
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork across multiple production lines
  • Experience with material handling or electric pallet‑moving equipment
  • Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure
