Reporting to:
Production Supervisor and Leadhand


Position Purpose 
To ensure all minor, inclusion, and liquid ingredients are screened and scaled accurately


Key Accountabilities
Ensuring food quality along with standard productivity


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for start-up, picking up formulas, and review mixing schedule
  • Ensure all variances to formulas are noted and reported to Leadhand and Supervisor
  • Visually check all ingredient bins prior to start-up
  • Check, maintain and document product weights throughout the shift
  • Document all ingredients used throughout shift
  • Document lot numbers of all ingredients used 
  • Ensure proper documentation, labelling, and cleanliness of ingredient bins
  • Assist mixer for clean-up
  • Arrive to work on time and with all tools to perform tasks
  • Scale ingredients accurately according to current and up-to-date formulas
  • Assist with the loading of ingredients into the mixer
  • Ensure scaling and mixing area is neat and clean
  • Work closely with mixer and Leadhand
  •  Inform Leadhand and Supervisor of any quality issues immediately
  • Leave work area clean and organized throughout and at the end of shift
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality and quality
  • Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in SOP manual
  • Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in employee handbook
  • Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed
  • Must be available to assist in other positions/departments as required
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

  • Must work with speed and accuracy to keep up with the production process
  • Service oriented --- high need to please
  • Level headed -- does not overreact under stress
  • Effective communicator
  •  Punctual, team player
  • Must be dependable
  • Written English Skills required 
  • Must have excellent attendance and work habits
  • Meet physical demands of the job including bending, walking, standing
  • Ability to lift 88 lbs, on a regular basis, throughout the shift
  • Flexibility around shift work is required with availability for overtime hours as needed
  • Computer skills
  • Trained on operation of electric pump truck
  • GMP and safety awareness

  • The majority of work in the bakery requires employees to stand on their feet for the entire  8-12 hour shift

  • ASPIRE BAKERIES Limited is a 24 hour/ 7 day manufacturing operation
  • The temperature of the environment within the production area can range from 58 - 80 degrees Fahrenheit depending on the department  
  • The production areas are often loud, exceeding 85 decibels, due to the machinery that is running; earplugs are required to be worn while in the bakery at all times
  • Depending on position, some employees may be exposed to dust; dust masks and respirators are available if required
