About the Role
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. The Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and improving long‑term equipment reliability, reducing technical downtime, and establishing preventative maintenance processes that strengthen performance across all bakery operations.

Hours: 8AM - 5PM
Compensation
Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability Systems
- Improve and execute the PM program across the bakery, ensuring sustainability and long‑term reliability.
- Develop and maintain a robust maintenance system supporting continuous performance improvements.
- Ensure SAP PM system accuracy (equipment IDs, tasks, frequencies).
- Drive use of SAP PM for data capture, historical tracking, and decision‑making.
Training, Coaching & Team Development
- Train, coach, and mentor maintenance personnel on the maintenance system, including work orders, spare parts, BOMs, and PMs.
- Support onboarding and development of new maintenance employees.
- Build technical competency within the maintenance team.
Performance Analysis & Predictive Maintenance
- Analyze daily reports and equipment history to identify trends and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
- Lead troubleshooting, downtime investigations, and root cause fault analyses.
- Oversee breakdown management, including reporting, analysis, and prevention.
Engineering & Continuous Improvement
- Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and operational challenges.
- Collaborate with Engineering and other teams on equipment upgrades, installations, and process innovations.
- Establish benchmarks and KPIs for PM completion, overhauls, and equipment performance.
- Create and maintain maintenance SOPs and checklists.
Food Safety, Compliance & Safety Practices
- Ensure all tasks align with GMPs, safe food handling, and health & safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Report concerns/issues promptly to supervisors in writing and verbally.
- Support a positive, safe, and collaborative work culture.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Must hold a valid license or have 10+ years of experience in the trade.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify and implement solutions.
- Ability to set priorities, lead others, and work effectively in a team environment.
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills.
- Persistent, tenacious, and service‑oriented.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Certificate of Qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with SolidWorks or design engineering.
