About the Role 

We are seeking a retail store clerk to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As a retail store clerk, you will be accountable to assist with duties required to operate an efficient and profitable retail outlet. This includes excellent front-line customer service, accuracy and detail for all transactions and inquiries.
 

Shift & Schedule

  • Days: Tuesday to Saturday
  • 40 hours per week 

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $24.29

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing)

  • Greet and interact with customers
  • Operate the cash register
  • Stock shelves and pack food as required
  • Process donation requests
  • Respond to customer complaints and inform the manager
  • Manage inventory stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
  • Balance previous days’ sales and report any discrepancies to the manager
  • Initiate changes to improve the business

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Strong front-line customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Service oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • High level of accuracy and detailing
  • Proficient and dependable
  • Able to work independently at times
  • Retail customer service experience or equivalent experience
  • Able to stand for up to 9.5 hours
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stack boxes of food

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Good computer skills
  • SAP experience
  • High school diploma
  • Experience in food or beverage manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
