About the Role
We are seeking a retail store clerk to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. As a retail store clerk, you will be accountable to assist with duties required to operate an efficient and profitable retail outlet. This includes excellent front-line customer service, accuracy and detail for all transactions and inquiries.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: Tuesday to Saturday
- 40 hours per week
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $24.29
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing)
- Greet and interact with customers
- Operate the cash register
- Stock shelves and pack food as required
- Process donation requests
- Respond to customer complaints and inform the manager
- Manage inventory stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
- Balance previous days’ sales and report any discrepancies to the manager
- Initiate changes to improve the business
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Strong front-line customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Service oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal & written)
- High level of accuracy and detailing
- Proficient and dependable
- Able to work independently at times
- Retail customer service experience or equivalent experience
- Able to stand for up to 9.5 hours
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stack boxes of food
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Good computer skills
- SAP experience
- High school diploma
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
