About the Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Ancaster bakery. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and preventing maintenance-related issues while collaborating with other supervisors and the manager to develop both short- and long-term strategic plans. You will ensure the efficient and cost‑effective management of maintenance processes to maximize equipment reliability and preserve bakery assets.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: Days (Possible Weekend Support)
- Hours: 8am – 4pm EST
Compensation
- Salary Range: $86,000 – $116,000
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing)
- Actively manage and review PM and corrective work order backlogs, ensuring timely completion and adherence to Basic Finish dates.
- Oversee quality of PM and corrective work orders by reviewing comments, verifying trade recommendations, and ensuring appropriate follow‑ups.
- Guide and support the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to ensure maintenance work is effectively planned and scheduled, including 2‑week and 6‑week schedules.
- Plan and coordinate annual PMs and major equipment overhauls with the Planner/Scheduler.
- Organize and execute daily PM priorities, ensuring all maintenance activities meet government regulatory requirements.
- Provide troubleshooting support for unscheduled line shutdowns and manage on‑site contractors as required.
- Maintain strong interdepartmental communication, attend key meetings, and liaise with QA to resolve quality issues and uphold food safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table) [List no more than 7 qualifications]
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a proactive, self‑motivated approach.
- Licensed Millwright or Electrician in Ontario, or an Engineering degree/diploma, with 5–7 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Proven technical trades experience with strong problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making abilities.
- Knowledge of OHSA regulations, as well as GMP and HACCP requirements.
- Ability to understand and work within scheduling processes and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to pursue additional certifications or licenses; Class B refrigeration certification considered an asset.
- Flexibility to work shifts and experience in food manufacturing considered an advantage.
