About the Role
We are seeking a Compliance Coordinator to join our team at our Brantford Bakery. As a Compliance Coordinator, you will be accountable for maintaining documentation related to product safety, legality, and quality systems, ensuring full compliance with regulatory, customer, and third‑party audit requirements. This role is vital in supporting AIMS compliance, internal audits, corrective‑action follow‑through, and sustaining a strong food‑safety culture across the bakery.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Maintain, review, and verify documentation supporting product safety, legality, and quality compliance
- Coordinate and support internal audits, mock traces, gap assessments, and third‑party audits (BRC, FDA, USDA, CFIA, customer audits)
- Manage document control, including policies, procedures, forms, and record retention
- Track corrective actions, verify follow‑through, and ensure timely completion by responsible departments
- Support FSQA data entry, reporting, and traceability activities to meet AIMS requirements
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards
- Cross‑train in FSQA functions to support operational coverage (while maintaining impartiality in audit‑related tasks)
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent related experience in the food industry
- ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification (must maintain certification)
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing or quality systems
- Strong knowledge of GFSI and third‑party audit standards (BRC, FDA, USDA, CFIA, customer audits)
- Strong analytical, data‑review, and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Bachelor of Science degree or related education
- Background in bakery or frozen food manufacturing
- Experience managing audit preparation and document‑control programs
- Strong communication skills for working across all levels of the organization
