About the Role

We are seeking a Specialist, Bakery – Logistics & Transportation to join our team at our Brantford, Ontario bakery. As a Specialist, Bakery – Logistics & Transportation, you will support customer service, transportation, and supply chain activities by coordinating daily logistics operations, managing carrier and distribution center relationships, and ensuring accurate, compliant shipment execution to meet bakery and customer requirements.

 

Compensation

  • Salary: $60,000 - $68,000

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Coordinate daily transportation activities to support bakery production and customer delivery requirements.
  • Partner with Customer Service to manage effective day-to-day relationships with distribution centers, carriers, and customers.
  • Schedule and coordinate daily sales orders while collaborating with Bakery Development, Customer Service, and Corporate Logistics.
  • Manage logistics reporting, including weekly KPI tracking and CHEP pallet reporting.
  • Oversee freight, pallet, and assessorial cost accuracy through invoice review and approval in SAP VIM.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments, ensuring complete and compliant shipping and customs documentation.
  • Administer the bakery pallet program, including forecasting requirements, purchase orders, billing validation, and rental cost reconciliation.

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a transportation and/or customer service role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining an organized and productive work environment.
  • High attention to detail with strong follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and other PC-based programs.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Post-secondary diploma.
  • Canadian Customs Certification (CCS).
  • Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) certification.
  • Experience coordinating international shipments and working with freight forwarders and customs brokers.
  • Knowledge of food shipping requirements, including customs, USMCA, FDA, and tariff classifications.
