The Manager of Materials Management has the central responsibility to support and execute the strategy of the mid to long term planning of ingredients and packaging, nuance escalations, as well as with the execution of Aspires’ material management policies, objectives, initiatives, and departmental goals 

 

Responsiblites: 

  • Accountable for providing support/input for mid to long term material requirements
  • Assist, mentor, and support bakeries with material delays/shortage situations.  Action, follow up on material concerns with vendors, all required internal teams to ensure accurate processes are being followed.
  • Maintaining professional interactions with vendors while escalating material deviations
  • Continue the ongoing assistance and guidance to further strengthen and align Procurement and Materials Management
  • Support and document material interruption report across the business to ensure complete transparency and communication.  To be updated weekly.
  • Twice weekly meetings with Procurement, to understand latest material challenges, contractual updates etc, provide actions and communicate across the organization.
  • Assist with planning functional strategies and initiatives to achieve bakery material inventory budgets
  • Provide support to the Materials Management Director to implement and drive center-led, standardized materials management practices across the network (i.e. discontinuations, commercialization, safety stock, stock transfers, network moves, etc.)
  • Analyze inventory and financial trends to target continuous improvement initiatives (ie consolidation, customer conversations, identify MOQ issues)

 

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED required. Bachelors degree preferred. 
  • 1-3 years progressive experience in supply chain management, with extensive experience in food manufacturing materials management
  • Good understanding of the materials and packaging components required
  • Solid track record of supporting cost reduction targets
  • Ability to coordinate multiple group efforts within the company to achieve objectives
  • Proven leadership abilities, both internally and externally
