The Maintenance Lead is a critical role responsible for overseeing and implementing preventive and autonomous maintenance systems in a specific area or production line. This position requires active participation in daily management systems and close collaboration with Process Owners and Continuous Improvement leads to develop and execute plans that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of various mechanical and electrical systems, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and have the ability to coach and train maintenance technicians while effectively managing key performance indicators.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead deployment, adherence and continuous improvement of AOE and DMS systems for the PM pillar on the floor.
  • Work directly with Process Owner and CI lead to develop daily, weekly and annual plan.
  • Work directly with Process Owner and CI lead to develop and maintain Centerline and Clean/Inspect/Lube systems.
  • Attend and participate in Level 1, Level 2 and AM/PM team meetings to help drive problem solving initiatives.
  • Be knowledgeable of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control systems.
  • Have the ability to think critically and utilize troubleshooting skills to come up with and execute corrective and preventative actions.
  • Prepare weekly maintenance plans and prioritize work for line downtime.
  • Coach and teach maintenance technicians on AM/PM activities – train to new PM updates as required.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule to work with employees on other schedules as required.
  • Participate actively in spare parts management and order parts as required.
  • Participate in coordination of projects with contractors, OEM or in house resources.
  • Tracks and trends key KPI’s for the area, for example; downtime, PM completion, SAP utilization, among others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required. Two year technical degree – electrical, mechanical or both is preferred
  • In depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical and automation systems.  Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret work orders, operating manuals and maintenance instructions.  Ability to complete forms detailing maintenance work performed. 
  • Ability to perform basic and advance math, convert all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret graphs and diagrams preferred.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Reimelt, Zeppelin and other control systems within the bakery.
  • Industry experience working in a manufacturing environment utilizing TPM and lean principals. Strong understanding of TPM pillars such as Autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance.
  • Proven track record of improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime
  • Experience with planning and scheduling work
  • Continuous improvement expertise – experience with lean manufacturing principals.  Ability to identify and eliminate waste.
  • Problem solving – expertise in troubleshooting complex equipment issues.  Use of problem solving methodologies like BDA, RCFA and 5 whys.
  • Data analysis – proficiency in using SAP for tracking maintenance activities.  Ability to analyze maintenance data to drive improvements.  Familiarity with maintenance KPI’s
