As a Warehouse Clerk associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and accuracy of all inbound and outbound orders, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work area. You will also communicate effectively with internal and external customers, carriers, and team members, and participate in problem-solving, planning, and decision-making activities. You will also have the opportunity to learn new skills such as operating forklifts, robots, and receiving duties. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Apply labels to all pallets received into freezer from production
  • Assure pallet batches are accurate and label information is correct
  • Work with palletizer to assure pallet counts match throughout the shift
  • Ensure all finished goods with potential quality concerns are placed on hold.
  • Prepare necessary shipping documents for all outbound and inbound orders properly, completing all associated computers and paperwork associated with the load.  Ensure customer orders have accurate products and quantities.
  • Minimize detention fees by loading trucks as they arrive for their appointments.
  • Inspect all trailers upon arrival and all pallets of finished goods prior to loading.
  • Inspection of storage facilities and materials in order to maintain food safety and quality.
  • Observe and follow first in/first out (FIFO) of all finished goods, and monitor for damages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Perform training of new shipping employees and assist in other training activities which support the shipping/receiving department.
  • Flexibility in job assignments as designated by a supervisor and/or manager.
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned.  

 

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma, GED, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Stand-up forklift experience is required. 
  • 2-3 years of previous work history in a food manufacturing facility/light industrial environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, good written and verbal communication skills within the facility and with external contacts, in English.
  • Computer literate in Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Able to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer terminal and retrieve information from production schedules.
  • Dependable, motivated, and able to work independently with little supervision
