About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 2, Bakery – Packing (Machine Operator, Subway Packing) to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As an Operator 2, you will be accountable for operating and monitoring packaging equipment to ensure a consistent flow of finished goods, while maintaining safety, quality, and accuracy standards across the packing process.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 1st
• Hours: 6AM - 2:30PM
• Weekend availability: Required

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

• Operate and monitor packaging equipment to maintain a continuous and efficient flow of finished goods
• Ensure all products meet safety, legality, quality, and company specifications
• Perform metal detector checks and labeling verification in compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
• Communicate effectively with production, quality assurance, maintenance, and shipping teams to minimize downtime and waste
• Maintain accurate, complete, and legible production and quality documentation each shift
• Support efficient changeovers, start-ups, and shutdowns to meet production goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following GMPs and safe operating procedures

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Basic math and timekeeping skills
• Ability to make logical decisions in a production environment
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, push, or drag up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in environments that may be cold, hot, wet, dusty, or noisy

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production facility
• Experience operating packaging or production machinery
• Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety practices
• Experience working in a team-based manufacturing environment
