About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 2, Bakery Production (Machine Operator) to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As an Operator 2, you will be accountable for safely and efficiently operating production‑line equipment to ensure products meet quality specifications, minimize waste, and support consistent production flow. This role is vital to maintaining line performance, documenting downtime, and supporting continuous improvement in a fast‑paced environment.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 1st
  • Hours: 6AM – 2:30PM
  • Weekend availability: Required

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Operate and maintain production‑line machinery to ensure consistent, high‑quality product output
  • Monitor product size, weight, and consistency, making equipment adjustments as needed
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, including downtime logs and batch records
  • Follow GMPs, safety procedures, and company standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with mixers, inspectors, maintenance, and supervisors to support efficient workflow
  • Support line set‑up, changeovers, shut‑downs, and equipment cleanliness
  • Train new Operators and Inspectors to support team capability and performance

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math and time‑keeping tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and work in hot or cold environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to make logical, timely decisions
  • Ability to work safely in fast‑paced, team‑oriented environments
  • Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
  • Previous experience in a food‑manufacturing facility
  • Experience with mechanical or electrical production equipment
  • Experience documenting production data or downtime tracking
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort troubleshooting minor line issues
