About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 3, Bakery Packing (Day Off Relief) to join our team at our Hazleton, PA bakery. As an Operator 3, you will be accountable for supporting production continuity by covering multiple roles across production and packing while ensuring efficient line operations, product quality, and effective team communication.

Weekend availability: Required

Hourly Rate: Competitive / Based on experience

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Support production continuity by covering all positions across Production and Packing as needed
  • Coordinate and communicate line status, including startups, changeovers, and shutdowns, to ensure efficiency
  • Monitor product quality and verify adherence to company, customer, and food safety standards
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment and operational issues while escalating critical concerns appropriately
  • Train and support new hires, temporary staff, and team members across roles
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment aligned with GMP and safety standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Maintenance, Sanitation, QA, Shipping) to resolve issues and optimize production

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math and timekeeping skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift, push, or move up to 50 lbs and frequently carry 20+ lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and work in varying environments (hot, cold, wet, loud, or confined spaces)

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or bakery production environment
  • Experience operating or troubleshooting production or packaging equipment
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards
  • Experience training or mentoring team members
  • Strong communication skills in a team-based production setting
