About the Role

 

We are seeking a Technician I, FSQA-Bakery to join our team. As a Technician I, FSQA-Bakery, you will be accountable for supporting food safety and quality assurance programs through inspection, sampling, testing, documentation, and process verification activities. This role is vital to ensuring products meet Aspire Bakeries' food safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements while supporting compliance with the Aspire Integrated Management System (AIMS).

  • Shift: 1st Shift
  • Hours: 6am-2pm
  • Weekends: As required by the business

 

 

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

 

  • Conduct food safety and quality inspections, sampling, testing, and documentation to support compliance with AIMS programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify manufacturing processes, critical control points (CCPs), critical-to-quality control points (CTQs), and preventive controls are being followed.
  • Identify, report, and support resolution of food safety and quality non-conformances, including product hold activities.
  • Evaluate finished products through sensory, physical, packaging, coding, and labeling verification processes.
  • Perform GMP, hygiene, allergen, traceability, and pre-operational inspections to ensure bakery compliance standards are met.
  • Support Food Safety and HACCP programs through monitoring, verification, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicate food safety, quality, personnel safety, and equipment concerns promptly while promoting a safe and compliant work environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication, analytical, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation and perform standing, walking, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

 

  • Some college coursework in a science-related field.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing or food processing industry.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • One to two years of food safety, quality assurance, production, or related experience.
  • Experience operating inspection, measurement, weighing, metal detection, or quality verification equipment.

 

Work Environment

 

  • Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, frozen, dusty, and loud manufacturing environments.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and bump caps as needed.
  • Ability to maintain sanitary work practices and comply with all safety procedures and standard operating procedures.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and alternative schedules as business needs require.
