About the Role

We are seeking a Sanitation Worker/Sanitor to join our team at our Newark, CA bakery. In this role, you will be accountable for maintaining a clean, safe, and food‑compliant production environment by performing sanitation activities that support product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 2nd
  • Hours: 6:00PM – 2:00AM
  • Weekend Availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $23.00

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Perform sanitation and deep‑cleaning of production, warehouse, and administrative areas to meet food safety and health code standards
  • Clean, sanitize, and inspect production equipment and utensils following master sanitation schedules
  • Operate sanitation equipment and safely handle cleaning chemicals per procedures
  • Support food safety programs including AIB, HACCP, and GMP compliance
  • Inspect sanitation work, complete required checklists, and address deficiencies
  • Maintain sanitation supplies, chemical storage, and restroom paper products
  • Promote a safe, clean work environment and report contamination or safety risks

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
  • Ability to perform basic math related to product usage and dilution rates
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and dusty environments
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as required

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Previous experience in a baking or food manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with sanitation equipment and industrial cleaning processes
  • Knowledge of food safety standards (AIB, HACCP, GMP)
