About the Role

We are seeking a Packaging Operator to join our team at our Ontario, CA bakery. As a Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for packing products according to specifications, operating packaging equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 6AM – 2:30PM
Weekend Availability: Required

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $22–$23

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

• Ensure product units meet quality specifications (color, weight, height, length, appearance, core temperature).
• Pack production units into cases according to case pack specifications.
• Insert liners, baking instructions, and retail bags into cases; ensure accurate coding and identification of finished cases.
• Place finished cases on pallets, apply correct pallet labels, and record packaging documents accurately.
• Prepare box cartons with accurate labels or ensure box labeler accuracy.
• Operate packaging equipment, including metal detectors, counters, case erectors, conveyors, labelers, tapers, pallet jacks, wrappers, and bag counters.
• Alert Packaging Foreman, Lead, or Supervisor of equipment malfunctions or metal detector issues.
• Place palletized cases in holding freezer.
• Maintain sufficient packaging materials and supplies for production.
• Complete duties in compliance with GMPs, food safety, and company standards.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• Previous experience in an automated or semi-automated packing environment preferred.
• Elementary literacy in Spanish and/or English.
• Forklift certification helpful.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
