We are seeking a Regional Sr. EHSS Manager (West) to join our team. As the Regional Sr. EHSS Manageryou will ensure that regulatory requirements for Environmental, Health, Safety & Security across both Canada and USA Bakeries are met and exceeded to continually reduce risk and cost associated with injuries and unsafe behaviors of our employees, contractors, and visitors and environmental fines or citations. This role will lead the effort to ensure compliance, build a strong safety/ security culture and reduce injuries and damages/ loss to property. This role requires you to be onsite in Ontario, CA four days per week, giving you hands-on collaboration with the team and daily exposure to the pulse of the business. 

 

Compensation 

  • Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000

 

 

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing) 

  • Partner with Bakery Leadership and to drive positive cultural changes and achieve Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security regulatory compliance, organization goals/values, and continuous improvements
  • Champion safety culture with zero accident mentality
  • Develop, integrate, and manage written Environmental and Safety programs, policies and procedures that comply with legal and corporate policies and guidelines
  • Develop and manage EHS process throughout the company
  • Develop a strong relationship and facilitate employee-led behavior-based safety process in a team-based environment
  • Lead Bakery Teams and conduct regular environmental and safety audits, identify, and evaluate hazards in the workplace and recommend solutions to minimize or eliminate risk
  • Help manage and maintain with Bakery Teams existing Environmental Compliance programs (PSM, SWPPP, Air, Water, Waste, etc.)
  • Research federal, state and local regulations to define existing and upcoming legal obligations and requirements of associated programs and policies. Experience with local Air Districts (e.g. SCAQMD, SJCAPCD), SWRCB, DTSC, CUPA, CARB rules and regulations
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in all areas of safety and environmental compliance
  • Identify, build and manage site EHS personnel and personnel performing the activities though out the organization
  • Support all accident and near miss investigations to uncover root cause and track completion of corrective actions
  • Track, analyze, and report safety performance results
  • Help manage workers compensation cases with Bakery leadership
  • Ability travel at least 25% of the time to visit and support bakeries in both Canada and USA

 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • 7 years comprehensive environmental and safety experience with an extensive background in manufacturing environment preferably food industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of USA & Canadian Environmental, Health and Safety Regulations
  • Experience supporting facilities in both Canada and USA is a plus
  • M.S. in Occupational Safety or related discipline is good to have
  • Certifications (ASP, CSP, or Canada Equivalent) also a plus
  • The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to traffic hazards, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold
