As the FSQA Manager at Aspire Bakeries, you will be a leader in ensuring food safety and quality across our operations, products, and customers. You will develop and implement best practices, policies, and programs to comply with regulatory agencies and meet our high standards. You will also provide guidance, training, and feedback to your team and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and excellence. Responsibilities:
- Drive continuous improvement in food safety and quality assurance to meet bakery KPIs
- Recruit, develop, and manage FSQA personnel with ongoing performance evaluations
- Set performance expectations for microbiological standards, foreign material control, and regulatory compliance
- Implement and improve standardized FSQA policies including GMPs, HARPC, and AIMS programs
- Maintain food safety documentation in ETQ system and develop business improvement strategies
- Ensure completion of FSQA compliance calendars and regulatory requirements at all levels
- Provide training on quality, food safety, and hygiene practices to bakery and Central Service teams
- Communicate quality and food safety objectives clearly to management and operations
- Support teams in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances
- Conduct independent food safety, GMP, and hygiene gap assessments at bakeries, distribution centers, and supplier locations
- Lead preparation for and support customer and third-party audits
- Oversee GFSI Standard (BRC) implementation and recertification processes
- Support Food Safety Plan updates incorporating current preventive controls and hazard analysis
- Additional duties as required, assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Technology, or Food Science preferred or sufficient experience in the food industry to cover the technical skills needed.
- Minimum of 5 years comprehensive food processing, food safety and quality experience with an extensive background in manufacturing food industry, HACCP, USDA, or FDA preferred
- Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points).
- Certified in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF
- Previous experience with GFSI, BRC, SQF and/or USDA audits desirable.
- Understanding of microbiology aseptic sampling, methods, and interpretation
- Knowledge of food hygiene, hygienic zoning, cGMP’s, and environmental monitoring.
- Good writing, statistics (SPC and charting), analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Proficient in computers including spreadsheets, statistical programs, and SAP applications
Salary Range: $102,000-$122,000
