Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture and pack bread products by performing the following duties personally.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plans. directs, and coordinates the bakeries manufacturing process to ensure a continuous flow of safe, quality products that meet or exceed all requirements of the customer, Aspire Bakeries, LLC .and regulatory agencies.
  • Plans weekly Production schedule in conjunction with the Materials coordinator based on master scheduling and inventory policies set for each Stock Keeping Unit (SKU).
  •  Completes weekly employee schedule based on the Production schedule.
  •  Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet Production schedule.
  • Maintains time and Production records.
  • Accounts for 100% of raw materials consumed in mixing to ensure SAP batch control of raw material. Ensures a safe and sanitary facility that meets or exceeds all requirements of the customer, Aspire Bakeries, LLC., and regulatory agencies.
  • Documents line inefficiencies and downtime to identify issues. Works in conjunction with others to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Completes duties, and ensures that the Production team completes their duties, in accordance with quality assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety, and other company programs and procedures, and in accordance with government codes and regulations.
  • Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality, and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.
  • Investigate and find resolution of customer complaints by participating in information gathering, root cause analysis, and corrective action identification and implementation when required. Develops, recommends, and implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to improve production methods, equipment performance and efficiency, employee performance, and product quality.
  • Assists Manufacturing Manager with the fulfillment of daily Production requirements.
  • Acts on behalf of the Manufacturing Manager during his/her absence.
  • Informs the Manufacturing Manager of all significant actions and/or problems and assists with the resolution of all Production problems to ensure non-conforming products are identified prior to release and the issue corrected.
  • Assists the Manufacturing Manager with the selection of the human resources of the bakery to ensure all positions are ably staffed and future management is developed.
  • Assists in supporting and enforcing compliance by all employees to all Quality Management Systems programs to ensure that products meet or exceed all safety, legality, and quality requirements of the customer, Aspire Bakeries, LLC., and regulatory agencies.
  • Reviews all safety requirements, accidents, and concerns with the Manufacturing Manager on a daily basis.
  • Encourages and maintains effective communication in all areas and between all levels within the Bakery.
  • Supports and participates in special projects as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and two-way communication with co-workers and other personnel throughout the Company.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • In conjunction with quality assurance staff, inspects and measures products to verify conformance to specifications.  Trains employees to identify the product that does not meet specifications and ensure it is not shipped.
  • Troubleshoots product quality issues. 
  • Resolves worker issues or submits unsettled issues to the Human Resources department for action.
  • Participates as an active member of the Production management team.
  • Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality, and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years of related bakery or food Production experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of experience working in a bakery leadership role.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as Production schedules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or colleagues in the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish preferred.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software, Excel spreadsheet software, and Outlook email software. Knowledge of inventory control and Production software is helpful.

 

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000
