As the FSQA Supervisor, you will oversee the Quality Assurance team, ensuring timely issuance of specifications, labels, and tools aligned with production schedules while maintaining updated procedures and documentation. Key responsibilities include coaching and developing QA technicians, conducting audits, analyzing non-conformances, verifying calibrations, and reviewing GMP compliance to uphold quality, legality, and safety standards across all products and processes. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that Quality Assurance techs, specifications, pictures, labels and any other Quality Assurance tools are properly issued on time to the floor based on production schedules.
  • Responsible of updating and auditing Quality Assurance Procedures.
  • Responsible for coaching, development and performance evaluations of all the Quality Assurance Technicians.
  • Maintains Quality Assurance department payroll information in e-time such as vacations, personal days, overtime, etc.
  • Updates and controls documents related to product photos and issues same for Quality and Production.
  • Updates and controls documents related to new specifications in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager and collects outdated specifications from all departments.
  • Performs and documents aging stock reviews.
  • Generates the Non-conformance reports and follows-up on ingredients placed on hold.
  • Reviews Quality Assurance Reports daily and follows-up on “hold” forms with Sr. Quality Assurance Senior Technician.
  • Participates in inventory meetings.
  • Updates Quality Assurance tech schedules as needed and coordinates time off requests to insure proper coverage based on operational needs. 
  • Follows-up on required Capability Analysis as per Quality Assurance Manager’s request.
  • Performs monthly internal audit in conjunction with Quality Assurance manager.
  • Coordinates Glass/Perspex audit and issues final report.
  • Verifies Scale calibration program.
  • Reviews Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and reports findings.
  • Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and report any potential contamination and suspicious activity.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum recognized Diploma in a Food related discipline.
  • Knowledge of American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards preferred.
  • Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) required.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an automated food processing plant.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and governmental regulations.  Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word processing software; Excel spreadsheet software and Outlook email software.
  • Inustry Experience beneficial, not essential.
  • Bakery experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish. 

 

Shift: 3rd (10:00 pm: 6:30 am)
