As a Labeling System Operator, overseeing the accurate application of codes, labels, and retail bags while ensuring compliance with quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Coordinate daily tasks, monitor freezer temperatures, and manage inventory levels of packaging materials, leveraging your expertise to drive efficiency and maintain a safe, organized work environment. Your attention to detail, leadership skills, and ability to operate equipment safely will be instrumental in upholding our commitment to product quality and legality.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Awareness of daily production schedule.
  • Coordinate, organize, and assign subordinates daily job tasks.
  • Assure that the metal detector is operational.
  • Monitor and control freezer temperature and core temperature to specification, “informing” maintenance or bakery supervisor of the changes.
  • Monitor and control that the daily code, case labels, and retail bags are accurate.
  • Ensures that case code is legible.
  • Monitor and control that packaging documents are filled out accurately, legibly, and timely.
  • Assure that sufficient packaging materials are available for daily activities (cartons, labels, retail bags, pallets, pallet tags, case tape, etc.)
  • Monitor and control that Packaging areas are maintained organized and safe for performing daily activities.
  • Monitor and control that Packaging employees are performing tasks to standards.
  • Ensures employees are wearing the proper protective freezer clothing issued when performing job tasks.
  • Monitor and control that employees are operating equipment safely and as expected.
  • Ensures that employees are adhering to GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Ensures that all data entry is entered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
  • Works to maintain and improve the quality, legality, and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least two years of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as production schedules, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to complete routine reports Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to learn new computer software as required by the company
