About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Bakery Maintenance Utilities to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As the Lead Bakery Maintenance Utilities, you will be accountable for ensuring the continuous, safe, and compliant operation of all plant utility systems while leading utility operators and coordinating maintenance activities that support 24/7 production operations.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 3rd
  • Hours: 10:00PM – 6:30AM
  • Weekend Availability: As needed

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $46.00 – $48.00

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Ensure continuous operation and reliability of all facility utility systems to support production
  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee daily activities of utility operators to maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external maintenance, including preventive maintenance programs and contracted services
  • Support environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance programs in alignment with local, state, and federal requirements
  • Oversee boiler water and cooling tower chemistry programs in partnership with water treatment suppliers
  • Train and develop utility operators to improve proficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness
  • Support capital projects, expense initiatives, and spare parts inventory management

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated experience working in a maintenance or utilities environment
  • Working knowledge of industrial utility systems and preventive maintenance practices
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment
  • Knowledge of GMPs, sanitation standards, and food safety principles
  • Ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience in an automated food manufacturing or bakery environment
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance software systems
  • Basic knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, HACCP, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting energy management and utility efficiency initiatives
