About the Role

We are seeking a Lead to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Lead, you will coordinate and guide production staff to ensure all product varieties are produced safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the production schedule. You will play a key role in maintaining product quality, supporting team performance, and ensuring smooth operations across multiple production areas.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 2nd
  • Hours: 2:00PM – 10:30PM
  • Weekend availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $25

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Coordinate production staffing and workflow to ensure adherence to the production schedule
  • Lead and support team members across mixing, sheeting, oven, and packing areas to meet quality and safety standards
  • Perform and oversee production documentation, including starter reports, batch tracking, downtime, and data entry in SAP
  • Train and develop employees on equipment setup, process controls, and standard work procedures
  • Collaborate with Quality, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Shipping teams to maintain consistent operations
  • Participate in root cause analysis, daily area walks, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality checks (including metal detector verifications), and daily management systems such as Centerline and CIL

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three years of related production experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 1 year of Lead operator experience and 6 months of ingredient/mixing-related experience
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production or packing environment
  • Ability to understand and adjust mixing process controls, read scales and temperature displays, and document ingredient/mixing data
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation manuals, and procedure documents
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP or comparable systems

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience leading or supervising employees in a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Strong working knowledge of dough mixing processes and related equipment
  • Experience with continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and daily management systems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train and engage diverse teams
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and recommend process improvements
