About the Role

We are seeking a Packaging Operator to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Packaging Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating packaging equipment, monitoring packaging quality, and ensuring adherence to production schedules and safety standards.

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 2nd
• Hours: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• Weekend Availability: Required

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $20 – $21.25

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

• Ensure adherence to daily production, packaging, and bagging schedules while maintaining adequate packaging material inventory.
• Set up and adjust case erector measurements and bag inserter programming according to product specifications.
• Monitor and verify bag sealing temperatures, box strength, and packaging quality through regular checks.
• Operate packaging equipment and communicate maintenance concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with GMPs and safety protocols.
• Utilize Aspire AOE training with Centerline and CIL daily management systems.
• Participate in root cause analysis, area walks, and continuous improvement initiatives while training others on standard work procedures.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of related manufacturing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Ability to complete routine reports and speak effectively before groups.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn new software.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

• Prior experience in packaging operations within a food manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and processes.
