The Operator has the responsibilities of planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the daily activities of the Packaging Department. He/she will continually monitor and control that products being packed meet specifications and are of the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Awareness of daily production schedule.
- Coordinate, organize, and assign subordinates daily job tasks.
- Assure that metal detector is operational.
- Monitor and control freezer temperature and core temperature to specification, “informing” maintenance or bakery supervisor of the changes.
- Monitor and control that the daily code, case labels, and retail bags are accurate.
- Ensures that case code is legible.
- Monitor and control that packaging documents are filled out accurately, legibly, and timely.
- Assure that sufficient packaging materials are available for daily activities (cartons, labels, retail bags, pallets, pallet tags, case tape, etc.)
- Monitor and control that Packaging areas are maintained organized and safe for performing daily activities.
- Monitor and control that Packaging employees are performing tasks to standards.
- Ensures employees are wearing the proper protective freezer clothing issued when performing job tasks.
- Monitor and control that employees are operating equipment safely and as expected.
- Ensures that employees are adhering to GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Ensures that all data entry is entered accurately and on a timely manner.
- Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
- Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.

- High School Diploma or GED

Salary Range: $20hr

Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
