About the Role

We are seeking an Operator to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Operator, you will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the daily activities of the Packaging Department. You will monitor and control packaging operations to ensure products meet specifications and uphold the highest quality standards.


Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 3rd
  • Hours: 10:00 - 6:30AM 
  • Weekend Availability: Required 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $20.00 per hour

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Coordinate, organize, and assign daily job tasks to packaging team members.
  • Monitor and control packaging operations to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure metal detector functionality and monitor freezer and core temperatures.
  • Verify accuracy of daily codes, case labels, and retail bags; ensure legibility of case codes.
  • Maintain adequate stock of packaging materials and ensure organized, safe work areas.
  • Monitor employee performance, adherence to GMPs, and safe equipment operation.
  • Ensure proper protective freezer clothing is worn and all data entry is accurate and timely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and report potential contamination or suspicious activity immediately.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to promote teamwork.
  • Technical aptitude and willingness to build knowledge and skills.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and ethical work practices.
  • Dependability, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Prior experience in packaging or production leadership roles.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers, and reach with arms.
  • Frequent lifting between 10 and 100 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to push/pull 10–30 lbs frequently.
  • Adequate communication and observational skills (seeing, speaking, hearing).
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and color vision.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Continuous exposure to cold conditions and rapid temperature changes.
  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions and heat.
  • Tolerance for flour dust required.
  • Noise level is typically moderate but can occasionally be loud.
