About the Role

We are seeking an Operator 1 to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. In this role, you will ensure consistent product quality throughout the baking process—from formation to cooling—while supporting safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You will also help guide team members and uphold our standards for cleanliness, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 2nd
  • Hours: 2:00PM – 10:30PM
  • Weekend availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $20.00

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Maintain proper product shaping, slicing, alignment, and quality from proofer to cooling conveyor
  • Monitor and support proof box and oven process controls to meet production standards
  • Coordinate, train, and guide oven-area employees while fostering a safe, organized workspace
  • Maintain cutting blades, ensuring proper sharpness, usage, and disposal
  • Complete accurate and timely production data entry and documentation
  • Apply Aspire AOE, Centerline, and CIL systems to daily operations and performance checks
  • Participate in root cause analyses, daily area walks, and continuous improvement activities

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read and write clearly with basic verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in group or team settings
  • Ability to work with computers, including operating screens and basic system navigation
  • Ability to work assigned shift, including weekends

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience in bakery, food production, or manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with oven or proof box operations
  • Experience with daily management systems such as Centerline or CIL
  • Prior experience training or coordinating team members
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
