About the Role
We are seeking an Operator 1 to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Operator 1, you will assist in the operation of production equipment and support the bakery line to ensure smooth workflow and product quality. This role focuses on material handling, monitoring processes, and maintaining cleanliness while adhering to safety and GMP standards.

Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $20 per hour
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Support setup and operation of production equipment under supervision.
- Monitor product flow and report irregularities to Operator 3 or Supervisor.
- Maintain raw material supply on the line as directed.
- Ensure cleanliness and compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist with equipment start-up and shutdown procedures.
- Perform basic checks on product quality and report deviations immediately.
- Follow all GMP and Health & Safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE.
- Document issues or observations in the production log.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or contamination risks promptly.
- Participate in team communication and continuous improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal and written).
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible to work various shifts as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Prior experience in a fast-paced production or packing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, use hands and fingers, and reach with arms.
- Frequent lifting between 10 and 100 lbs with assistance.
- Ability to push/pull 10–30 lbs frequently.
- Adequate communication and observational skills (seeing, speaking, hearing).
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and color vision.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Continuous exposure to cold conditions and rapid temperature changes.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions and heat.
- Tolerance for flour dust required.
- Noise level is typically moderate but can occasionally be loud.
