About the Role
We are seeking an Operator, Bakery – Ingredient Prep to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As an Ingredient Prep Operator, you will be accountable for accurately preparing, measuring, and documenting ingredients to support efficient mixing operations while maintaining food safety, traceability, and production flow.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 1st Shift
- Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Weekend Availability: Required
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $21 – $22 per hour
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Prepare and measure ingredients accurately to support consistent product quality and prevent contamination
- Maintain full ingredient traceability and complete data entry with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage ingredient inventory, storage, and organization—including refrigerated and dry ingredients
- Support mixer operations by preparing and transporting ingredients to meet production pacing
- Maintain clean, organized prep, wash, and cooler areas in compliance with GMP and safety standards
- Collaborate with production leaders and operators to support efficient workflows and problem solving
- Follow standard work, participate in continuous improvement, and uphold food safety and safety protocols
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months’ general labor experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and follow recipes and document ingredient data
- Basic math skills and ability to interpret scale and temperature readings
- Ability to operate and understand mixing process controls and computer-based systems
- Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs. and work in production and cooler environments
- Effective communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Basic knowledge of dough mixing principles or mixing equipment
- Familiarity with SAP scaling processes
- Experience in food manufacturing
- Problem‑solving and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience training others or supporting standard work improvements
