The Senior Supervisor - 3rd Shift provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to all 3rd shift supervisors and production staff. This role ensures consistent execution of production plans, drives team performance, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement across all production lines. The Senior Supervisor is responsible for resolving operational issues, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and aligning shift activities with broader organizational goals. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead a safety-first culture while providing leadership to all 3rd shift Supervisors, ensuring consistent execution of production plans. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for shift-related operational decisions and escalations. Work with teams to resolve issues in a safe and timely manner.   

  • Communicates shift performance, challenges, and needs to the Sr Operations Manager and other stakeholders. 

  • Ensure all lines are staffed appropriately and running efficiently according to the weekly production schedule. 

  • Monitor daily line performance and ensure compliance with production targets and SKU-specific plans. 

  • Coordinate with planning and scheduling teams to align shift activities with broader production goals. 

  • Guide and support standard work with Supervisors and production teams including adherence to run settings and product quality expectations. 

  • Recommend and implement improvements in production methods, equipment performance, and workforce efficiency. 

  • Monitor and manage inventory of tools and supplies required for cleaning and production. 

  • Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure customer deadlines are met.   

  • Resolve employee issues or escalate unresolved matters to Human Resources. 

  • Develop capital equipment justifications to improve quality, cost, and cycle times. 

  • Maintain time and production records. 

  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, safety protocols, and company procedures. 

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, reporting any contamination or suspicious activity. 

  • Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management of shift employees. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level 

 

Required 

  • Education - High school diploma, strongly prefer an Associate or Bachelor’s degree 

  • 5+ years of food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing experience in a Supervisory or Manager role 

  • Must desire to grow professionally and utilize this role as a step towards Operations Manager 

  • Schedule flexibility – able to periodically shift schedule to support production needs or projects 

  • Working knowledge and capability to use Microsoft Word, Excell and Outlook.  Knowledge of MRP/Shop Floor Inventory systems such as SAP.  Ability to learn new systems. 

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as production schedules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or colleagues in organization.  

  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; participates in meetings.  

  • Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively.  

Preferred 

  • Working knowledge of Spanish preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and to rapid changes in temperature.  The employee must be able to tolerate a work environment that contains flour dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

 

Shift: 3rd (10:00pm-6:30am)- Supervisor must be flexible within this schedule and may occasionally need to work beyond those hours to ensure smooth production, seamless shift transitions, and the completion of all necessary administrative tasks.
