About the Role

We are seeking a Sanitation Operator to join our team at our Swedesboro, NJ bakery. As a Sanitation Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility to support food safety, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness across production and support areas.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: 1st
  • Hours: 6 AM- 2:30 PM
  • Weekend availability: Required

 

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $20.00– $22.00

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll be Doing)

  • Maintain cleanliness of facility surfaces, including floors, walls, ceilings, and drains, in accordance with sanitation schedules
  • Manage waste disposal processes, including trash collection and cardboard compaction, to support a clean and organized workplace
  • Execute sanitation procedures for production equipment during scheduled downtime and maintenance periods
  • Operate and maintain sanitation equipment, such as floor scrubbers, to ensure safe and hygienic conditions
  • Ensure all sanitation tools and supplies are properly maintained and ready for use
  • Support audit readiness by preparing the facility for inspections, customer visits, and regulatory reviews
  • Promote food safety and quality standards by identifying and reporting potential contamination risks

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements
  • Willingness to work in variable temperature environments (hot, cold, humid)
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and sanitation down-days as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish
