About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Controls Tech / Engineer to join our team at our Swedesboro bakery. As a Senior Controls Tech / Engineer, you will be accountable for maintaining and improving all plant electrical and control systems while providing technical leadership, troubleshooting expertise, and support to Electro‑Mechanics across all shifts.

Shift: 3rd
Hours: 10PM – 6:30AM
Weekend Availability: Required
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $43 - $45
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plant control systems, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and network subsystems.
- Train, support, and coordinate Electro‑Mechanics across all shifts in troubleshooting and system maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all controls hardware, software, and system configurations.
- Support production by performing inspections, adjustments, and repairs while equipment is operating.
- Lead corrective, preventive, and scheduled maintenance activities to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, quality, and all regulatory and company maintenance standards.
- Complete work order documentation, maintain records, and support continuous improvement in system performance and reliability.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong mathematical skills, including unit conversions, fractions, decimals, and graph/diagram interpretation.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.
- Working knowledge of Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi control software.
- Valid driver’s license and applicable local/state/federal licenses (as required per location).
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance software and practices.
- Ability to work safely around electrical, mechanical, and automated systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- AS/AAS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Equivalent military or hands‑on engineering background in machine/controls design, installation, and commissioning.
- Experience with full machine and electrical control system design and troubleshooting.
- Experience in food manufacturing environments, including HACCP or food safety programs.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or root‑cause analysis initiatives.
