About the Role

We are seeking a Production Manager, Bakery- Manufacturing to join our team at our Cayce, SC bakery. As a Production Manager, you will be accountable for overseeing production, engineering, and sanitation operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous delivery of high-quality products. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the bakery.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Regular business hours
  • Weekend Availability: Required

 

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

  • Lead production, engineering, and sanitation operations to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Ensure product quality and regulatory compliance through partnership with FSQA and operational teams.
  • Manage workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, and team development.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, process optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain audit readiness and adherence to safety, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Support budget management, capital planning, and operational reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to meet customer expectations and business objectives.

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes including production, packaging, engineering, and shipping operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to support evening, overnight, and weekend operations as business needs require.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and operational management systems.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience in bakery manufacturing operations, including mixing, proofing, baking, and packaging processes.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Training or certification in Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Experience supporting capital projects and technical manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and customer groups.
