About the Role

We are seeking a Manager, Bakery, to join our team at our Winnipeg bakery. As the Manager, Bakery, you will be accountable for leading production operations in a continuous-process manufacturing environment while ensuring production schedules, financial targets, and operational standards are met. You will drive team performance, operational excellence, and cross‑functional collaboration to support safe, efficient, and high‑quality bakery operations.

  • Weekend availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Lead and develop Production Supervisors to ensure effective execution of daily production activities
  • Manage departmental budgets, P&L performance, and cost‑control initiatives
  • Establish, track, and review KPIs to measure performance against operational standards
  • Review, improve, and standardize production practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to support smooth operations, including QA, Maintenance, Sanitation, HR, and R&D
  • Ensure production schedules are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and GMP standards
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, reduce variability, and strengthen overall operations

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • 5–7 years of experience managing teams in a continuous‑process manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success in budgeting, P&L management, and meeting financial targets
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills
  • Experience supervising in a positive employee‑relations environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using SAP or similar systems
  • Ability to manage scheduling, cross‑functional coordination, and performance reviews

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Experience in bakery, yeast, or frozen food manufacturing
  • Background working in a union environment
  • Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement or waste‑reduction initiatives
  • Experience supporting R&D testing within production environments
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
