About the Role

We are seeking a Sanitation Worker to join our team at our Winnipeg bakery.
As a Sanitation Worker, you will be accountable for maintaining a clean, safe, and food‑safe production environment by executing Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and supporting overall plant hygiene and equipment sanitation.

 

Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Rotating Continental
  • Weekend Availability: Required

 

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $18.70

 

Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)

  • Maintain sanitary conditions across production lines, equipment, and facility areas to support food safety and quality standards
  • Execute assigned duties from the Master Sanitation Program in accordance with SSOPs
  • Safely handle, prepare, store, and apply cleaning chemicals and sanitizers at proper concentrations
  • Conduct visual self‑inspections of cleaned equipment and areas and take corrective action when standards are not met
  • Complete all required sanitation and safety documentation accurately and on time
  • Identify and report equipment deficiencies, sanitation issues, or production risks to the Lead Hand or Supervisor
  • Support a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work environment throughout and at the end of each shift

 

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

  • Completed Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions (wet, humid, warm, cool, and cold)
  • Physically able to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Basic math skills and ability to complete required documentation
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Willingness and flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends

 

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

  • Previous sanitation experience in an industrial or food manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation chemicals
  • Familiarity with production equipment structure and function
  • Experience working in a unionized, multicultural workplace
