About the Role
We are seeking a Sanitation Worker to join our team at our Winnipeg, MB facility. As a Sanitation Worker, you will be accountable for ensuring plant equipment and facilities are properly cleaned and sanitized to support food safety, product quality, and efficient production operations. This role is vital to maintaining a safe, compliant, and production‑ready manufacturing environment.
This role requires you to be onsite at our Winnipeg facility, working assigned shifts to support daily sanitation and production readiness.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $18.70
Core Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Clean and sanitize plant equipment and facilities in compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and workplace health and safety standards
- Safely disassemble, reassemble, and account for all equipment and parts during sanitation activities
- Perform visual self‑inspections of cleaned equipment and take corrective action when standards are not met
- Properly use and handle cleaning tools, equipment, and chemicals according to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
- Identify and report equipment deficiencies observed during disassembly or cleaning to the Sanitation Leadhand
- Accurately complete required sanitation documentation and records in a timely manner
- Prepare and organize the plant environment to ensure readiness for the next day’s production
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
- Ability to understand and follow sanitation schedules, procedures, and written instructions
- Physically capable of lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Willingness and flexibility to work all shifts as assigned
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment
- Successful completion of WHMIS, chemical handling, and sanitation training
- Ability to assemble, disassemble, and perform basic troubleshooting on equipment
Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or industrial sanitation
- Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations
- Experience working with sanitation chemicals and industrial cleaning equipment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
